Ms. Jeanette Lowery, an English teacher at Warren County High School in McMinnville, TN., decided that a lesson in oral history and the preservation of taping and transcribing would make two great assignments in one. With that in mind, her students 'strapped' themselves with recorders, cameras, pen and paper, and set about their assignment to record Warren County history.
This project was so much fun that we decided to write a book which would assume the name of the bird, a symbol of our heritage, THE EAGLE.
After many years of restoration, The Black House has opened its' doors to the public for tours.
