This project was so much fun that we decided to write a book which would assume the name of the bird, a symbol of our heritage, THE EAGLE.
From the books we would establish a non-profiting 501-C organization. Thus we did and later inherited the oldest house in McMinnville, TN.
We then got the community involved and restored the old delapidated house to its present standing.
In 1983, while the students were writing diligently on their assignments, Jeanette Lowery came up with a way to have fun and to 'show off' the house.
MAY DAY is the name that was chosen to which the festivities circle around.
After many years of restoration, The Black House has opened its' doors to the public for tours.
